Your privacy choices
Version 1.7.0 · Effective date: October 13, 2026
Our games play without an account and keep a local copy of your progress. If you sign in and use cloud saves, your save is also sent to Flownauts. Advertising, analytics, purchase handling and crash diagnostics can send the information described in our privacy policy. This website has its own separate analytics choice. The controls below help you manage each choice.
The new consent-recording controls and account preference center described below are being introduced in stages. Until a game or device offers them, use its existing privacy controls. This document describes what the updated controls will do when available.
1. Privacy choices inside the game
Open Settings › Privacy choices in a Flownauts game that offers it. Game analytics collection starts enabled unless you have turned it off. The analytics switch turns collection on or off. The Google advertising control reopens the consent and privacy-options form provided by Google, our advertising partner, when that form applies. If the form is unavailable, the device settings in sections 2 and 3 let you control the advertising identifier. Depending on where you live, the Google form lets you:
- Withdraw or change consent to personalized advertising (European Economic Area, United Kingdom and Switzerland).
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information and of targeted advertising (US states with privacy laws, such as California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia and others).
Optional gameplay, purchase and offer analytics. Where updated controls offer this separate choice, it starts off. If you allow it, Flownauts records meaningful gameplay starts and completions, offer activity and verified purchase records to measure later returns and purchase/offer performance. Raw reporting activity remains for up to 30 days; derived gameplay cohorts and linked outcomes expire at most 35 days from the original cohort day. You can withdraw this choice from the relevant privacy controls. Withdrawal stops new collection and removes the retained reporting history; purchases and access still work. Your account data download includes retained reporting records linked to your account. This choice does not turn on personal purchase predictions, Google Analytics, partner advertising or newsletters.
Optional purchase personalisation. When this feature and its privacy controls are available, signed-in players can choose it separately from gameplay, purchase and offer analytics. It starts off and requires both choices to be allowed. Gameplay linked to your account and eligible, verified initial purchase outcomes can then be used to estimate your chance of buying FlowPass or downloadable content during the following week and personalise recommendations. The estimates are separate for each target, may be unavailable and are not guarantees. Raw gameplay activity is kept for up to 30 days. Personal features, derived purchase outcomes, predictions and model-contribution records expire within 35 days of the original cohort day; models expire no later than their earliest contributing data. Turning this choice off stops prediction use and removes personal prediction records and models that used them. Account export and erasure cover these retained records. Playing, purchases, membership and access still work.
Declining never stops you playing. If Google privacy options are unavailable, the game cannot open Google's form at that time; the device settings below still work everywhere.
Flownauts promotions. Games that support our house ads can also show contextual promotions for Flownauts games and FlowPass. They use the game, placement, build, platform, language and supported media, with account and device identifiers for signed-in access, ad-free entitlements, playback security and repeat limits. They do not use an interest profile or browsing history, or create a separate linked history of clicks or viewing for campaign diagnostics. Google's advertising-consent controls and the analytics switch apply to those separate services. Section 4 explains Remove Ads and FlowPass.
Games using the new service relay the outcome of Google's User Messaging Platform consent flow and the relevant analytics choices to Flownauts, so we have a record of the choice. This does not replace Google's form or Apple's tracking permission. If sending the record fails, it does not block play; the game's privacy controls still apply.
2. iPhone and iPad
An Apple App Tracking Transparency prompt may appear when the game’s configured consent flow asks for tracking permission. Choose Ask App Not to Track to deny access to the device’s advertising identifier for tracking. This choice is separate from Google’s advertising-consent form and does not stop all advertising data being sent.
To change this later, open Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking and turn the switch off for the game, or turn off Allow Apps to Request to Track for every app at once.
3. Android
Open Settings › Google › Ads (on some phones Settings › Privacy › Ads). There you can delete your advertising ID, which stops any app from using it for personalized ads, or reset it, or opt out of ads personalization.
4. Remove Ads and FlowPass
Where a game offers it, a one-time Remove Ads purchase in Settings removes non-rewarded advertising in that game. Once the app confirms an active Remove Ads purchase, it stops loading and showing those ads. Separately offered rewarded ads remain optional and play only when you choose them. A qualifying FlowPass entitlement stops ad delivery; where a reward offers the FlowPass direct-claim option, you can claim it without watching an ad. These choices do not erase data already held by Google or Flownauts, or disable account features, purchase handling, analytics or crash diagnostics. The purchase is tied to your App Store or Google Play account; use Restore purchases to bring it to a new device.
5. This website
flownauts.com uses Google Analytics to count visits, and remembers small preferences such as whether you chose the light or dark theme. The updated controls also describe any optional advertising purpose before you choose it.
In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland we ask before Google Analytics may use cookies. Until you say yes it runs without them and receives no identifier for you. Everywhere else analytics is on when you arrive, and you can turn it off.
The existing control is at the top of this page: the switch marked Analytics on this site. As the updated banner and purpose controls become available, they show which optional purposes apply, what each allows, and the choice for this browser. You can change your answer whenever you like. Necessary functions stay enabled. Your answer takes effect immediately on this device, even if sending its record to Flownauts fails.
Global Privacy Control (GPC). If your browser sends this signal, the updated controls turn off optional advertising purposes everywhere. A saved advertising grant cannot override it while the signal is active. GPC does not itself turn off analytics or unsubscribe you from newsletters; use those separate controls if you want to change them.
What we record. When the updated controls send your choice to Flownauts, we record your allowed and declined purposes, the purpose and policy versions shown, the time we recorded the choice, and the surface and source of the choice. The record also includes the country code supplied by our network edge and the regional default applied. If you are not signed in, the record uses a random consent identifier. That identifier and a private ownership code are kept with your browser's choice in local storage, not in a cookie. Clearing browser storage removes that local choice; it does not delete a record already sent to us. Unlinked records are deleted 13 calendar months after the newest choice for that identifier. When the updated site links your choices after sign-in, the history becomes part of your account and is deleted with it.
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or install Google’s analytics opt-out add-on.
6. Account Privacy preferences
When the new Privacy preferences page is available, sign in and open it from your account settings. It shows the latest recorded choice for the website, games, companion app and account settings where records exist, and lets you change the choices offered there. A change adds a new record rather than rewriting the history. The Google advertising-consent form and device tracking settings remain separate controls.
When purchase personalisation is offered, it is a separate choice for signed-in gameplay. Use the relevant game privacy controls to change it; allowing gameplay, purchase and offer analytics does not turn it on.
The page also shows your newsletter preferences, which Flownauts keeps in its own records. Mailgun delivers our email. Newsletter sign-up still requires confirmation by email. Recording an advertising or analytics choice never signs you up for newsletters. Use the newsletter controls or the unsubscribe link in any issue to leave; account and support email continue as described in the privacy policy.
Your account data download includes your recorded consent history, including browser choices linked after sign-in. Account deletion removes that history. A choice is remembered in the browser or game where you make it; check the local controls on another device if you want to change its choice too.
7. Other requests
Clearing the game’s data or uninstalling it removes local game data. It does not delete your Flownauts account, cloud saves, purchase records or data already held by service providers. Use your account settings to download your account data or request account deletion. Google holds the partner-advertising data it receives; you can exercise your rights with Google through your Google account. Flownauts holds the separate house-ad delivery records described in our privacy policy; use your account settings or contact us to exercise your rights over those records. The providers and retention periods are described in our privacy policy.
For anything else, including access, correction or deletion of information we hold about you, or if you cannot find one of the controls above, email privacy@flownauts.com. We respond within 30 days and never treat you differently for exercising your rights.
